About the role
Northeast Restorative Therapy Services is seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat residents in a skilled nursing and sub-acute rehabilitation setting at our partner facility in Riverhead, NY. You will address speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders to help residents communicate and eat safely.
This is a full-time position (35+ hours per week) with a predictable weekday schedule and occasional weekend rotation.
What you'll do
- Evaluate and treat dysphagia, cognitive-communication, speech, and language disorders
- Complete clinical swallow evaluations and recommend diet modifications
- Develop individualized, evidence-based plans of care with measurable goals
- Train residents, families, and facility staff in communication and swallowing strategies
- Document in PointClickCare / NetHealth in compliance with Medicare and payer requirements
- Collaborate within the interdisciplinary team, including dietary and nursing
What we're looking for
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Active New York State SLP license, or license/limited permit pending
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP); Clinical Fellows (SLP-CF) considered
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- SNF or sub-acute and dysphagia experience preferred
