About the role
Northeast Restorative Therapy Services is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist to evaluate and treat residents in a skilled nursing and sub-acute rehabilitation setting at our partner facility in Riverhead, NY. You will help residents regain independence in activities of daily living, cognition, and upper-extremity function following illness, injury, or surgery.
This is a part-time position (fewer than 35 hours per week) with flexible scheduling built around your availability.
What you'll do
- Complete occupational therapy evaluations and develop individualized plans of care
- Provide skilled interventions for ADLs, upper-extremity rehabilitation, cognition, and safety
- Assess the need for adaptive equipment and train residents and caregivers in its use
- Establish functional goals and progress residents toward safe discharge
- Supervise and delegate appropriately to Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants
- Document in PointClickCare / NetHealth in compliance with Medicare and payer requirements
- Participate in interdisciplinary care-plan meetings
What we're looking for
- Degree in Occupational Therapy from an ACOTE-accredited program (Master’s or Doctorate)
- Active New York State Occupational Therapist license, or license/limited permit pending
- Current NBCOT certification and BLS/CPR
- SNF or sub-acute experience preferred; new graduates welcome
